I had SO much fun last weekend! My boyfriend took me to the Bedrock City Mini Comic Con at Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. in Houston, and I’ve been waiting to post about it until I could get myself organized, take pictures of everything I bought, and track down all the artists’ links.
There were so many great artists there.
Whenever I’m looking at art, I don’t necessarily go in searching for anything specific. The pieces I end up buying usually just have a vibe or aesthetic that grabs me. I’m also the person who has to walk around and look at EVERYTHING before I buy anything. 
I try to be mindful about how much money I’m spending, so I need to see all my options first!
First Find — Artasa Collective
The first work that caught my attention was from Artasa Collective.
I apologize because I am terrible with names, but thankfully I found the links! These are to cool, and eventually will get them framed and hung in the game room.

He wasn’t actually there, but his wife was, and she had watercolored this piece. I loved her vibe, and she was SO nice!
This particular idea is something I’ve seen done in different ways over and over, and it’s actually made me want to someday try my own version using melted crayons.
But anyway… I LOVE THIS ONE.
I had to have it. And, of course, I had her sign it.

I immediately loved all of her Hazbin Hotel stuff!
I ended up getting these pieces AND some holographic cards, which are SO COOL.
And obviously I needed Angel and Husk because “Loser, Baby” is my favorite song, and they are my favorite characters. So there really wasn’t much self-control happening here.
LAST — Rhonda Kong / Pasta Panic
My last purchase was this comic and artwork by Rhonda Kong, and yes… I had her sign it too.
I really liked her art style, and I can’t wait to sit down and read the comic!

And I Survived a Comic Con!
I actually prefer digital comics most of the time, but I do have a small collection of physical comics that I keep on the shelf by my bed. This one is officially joining them.
(and yes i know. YUK digital, its because I can carry more with me when I’m feeling indecisive)
I don’t try to go to too many comic cons because large groups of people make me nervous, especially when there are a million things happening around me at once.
But I did a REALLY good job!
I walked around, looked at everything, talked to artists, and even made small talk with people trying to sell me their art.
And I’m really glad I went.
I came home with some awesome new art, a new comic to read, and—probably my favorite part—I got to support a few fellow artists whose work made my brain go:
